Southern Hoops' Record Evened At 7-7

Southern's girls basketball team leveled its record to 7-7 with a 49-29 victory over Queen Anne's (0-14) Friday.

Lindee Sisk and Talaya Barnett led the Bulldogs with 11 points each, and Kim Smith contributed 10. Lakeka Wesley pulled down 14 rebounds.

FALCONS BASKETBALL DEFEATS SOUTH RIVER

Scott Brown's 26 points sparked the Severna Park boys basketball squad to a 82-71 win over non-league foe South River on Friday night.

Derrick Moran was the only other Falcon in double figures, with 20. Freshman forward Ron Green pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds, while Eric Brown snatched nine.

Host Severna Park upped its overall record to 6-10 (2-5 in 4A Bay Division).

Edmund Hicks led South River (9-6, 1-1 3A-2A league)with 24 points, followed by Chance Hall (20) and Albert Lee (17 points, team-high nine rebounds).

NORTHEAST BESTS SPALDING GRAPPLERS

Northeast dominated the lower weight classes en route to a 38-23 triumph over Spalding in a non-league dual wrestling match meet Friday.

"We wrestled well in spots, but we were beaten by a quality team,"Spalding head coach Jim Nemeth said.
