Roads under repair

New projects

I-95 northbound over Rolling Road (Route 166): Two slow lanes of bridge will be closed from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. today for bridge deck repair.

Northern Parkway eastbound ramp to southbound Jones Falls Expressway (I-83): will be closed daily from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for approximately two weeks for utility work on the light-rail line. Traffic will be directed to southbound JFX access ramp from westbound Northern Parkway.

Dolphin Street between Howard Street and Mount Royal Avenue: will become one way for westbound traffic in preparation for the new Central Rail Transit system, effective at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Traffic coming from the south via Martin Luther King Boulevard destined for northbound Jones Falls Expressway (I-83) continues east to Chase Street, east on Chase Street to Cathedral Street, ** then north at the 1100 block of Cathedral to Mount Royal Avenue and the expressway.

Old York Road (Route 439): East of I-83 to Harford County line, traffic will be rerouted to new roadway about Feb. 11.

Route 7 bridge over Winters Run: One-way traffic will be %J maintained until the fall of 1991 because of bridge replacement.

Toll facilities

Bay Bridge (U.S. 50/301): Toll plaza under reconstruction; two lanes closed.

AKey Bridge (Interstate 695): periodic lane closings on bridge and at nearby exits.

Interstate 95: between I-695 and White Marsh Boulevard, off-peak closings for median construction.

Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge (U.S. 40): Construction continues on toll plaza.

Baltimore Harbor Tunnel (I-895): Tuesday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. -- 3 p.m., one tube will be closed with two-way traffic operating in the open tunnel.

Baltimore Beltway

northeast side: Belair Road to Perring Parkway, lane closings, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Anne Arundel County

U.S. 50/301: Ramp to southbound Route 2 exits from left lane. Westbound lanes relocated to right. Ridgely Avenue bridge over U.S. 50/301 closed.

Baltimore-Washington Parkway (Route 295): interchange at parkway and Routes 100/176, work continues. Single-lane closings along north- and southbound Route 295.

Route 3: Between I-695 and Route 32 (highway is being upgraded to interstate) construction continues. Interstate 97/Route 3 interchange with Benfield Boulevard partially open. Southbound Route 3 traffic routed to final location.


6Mulberry between Cathedral and Howard remains closed.

Hanover Street Bridge (Route 2): Rehabilitation work has begun and will take approximately 18 months. Bridge will remain open, but there will be lane reductions in both directions, with occasional weekend closings.

Baltimore Street between Calvert and Gay streets: Lane restrictions daily, particularly during non-peak hours, for subway construction (through Feb. 1).

Cold Spring Lane bridge over Stony Run: Bridge replacement in progress. Cold Spring Lane now closed to westbound traffic at Charles Street (reopens in spring). East- and westbound traffic on Cold Spring Lane will operate on north side of roadway when work begins on southern portion of bridge. Project will be completed late this year.

Baltimore County

AFalls Road bridge (Route 25) over Jones Falls and light-rail line just north of city line is closed to traffic during replacement. Detours posted. Reopens late 1991.

Fairmount Avenue: Closed to westbound traffic from Joppa Road to York Road.

Paper Mill Road: Repairs to bridge over Loch Raven Reservoir continue. Bridge will remain closed until March.
