MTA bus route changes

The MTA has scheduled the following changes in bus routes for this week. For more information, call 539-5000; TTY for the hearing-impaired, 539-3497.

New service

No. 20 -- Selected trips will be routed via Holabird Industrial Park.

No. 28 -- On Sundays, selected Woodlawn trips will be extended to serve Security Square Mall.

Route changes

No. 13 -- The Fells Point routing will be changed. Buses to Fells Point will follow the regular route on Wolfe Street, then left on Aliceanna Street. The buses will use a new layover on Aliceanna between Castle and Chester streets. Buses to downtown Baltimore will leave the layover, go left on Boston Street, left on Fleet Street, then resume regular route on Washington Street.

No. 17 -- Buses to Lake Shore will no longer travel via Green Haven in the morning. However, those en route to downtown Baltimore will. The reverse will be true in the afternoon.

No. 28 -- Northbound buses will operate on the regular route to Eutaw Place, left on Druid Park Lake Drive to McCulloh Street and Fulton Avenue, then resume regular route.

No. 51 -- Buses will no longer travel into Mondawmin Metro station. Passengers will board and alight on Liberty Heights Avenue in front of the rail station.

No. 70 -- The Fallsway Park'n'Ride shuttle will travel south on Guilford Avenue instead of St. Paul Street.

New schedules

New schedules for the following lines will go into effect today:

Weekdays: Nos. 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 15, 19, 20, 22, 23, 28, 33, 44, 64, 70, M-6, M-16, 240

Weekends: Nos. 5, 28

Other route changes

Nos. 17, 28, 230, 240 -- Construction work has closed Eutaw Street between Lombard and Camden streets, necessitating a change in the present temporary route. When northbound, via regular route to Paca and Pratt streets, north on Paca, east on Baltimore Street, north on Eutaw, then via present temporary route.

No. 28 (Mondawmin Branch) -- Effective today, Dolphin Street will be one way westbound between Mount Royal Avenue and Howard Street. When northbound, via temporary route on Eutaw to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, east on Martin Luther King, east on Read Street, east on Chase Street, north on Cathedral Street, north on Mount Royal, west on McMechen Street, then via regular route. No change in southbound service.

Beginning Wednesday, between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., northbound No. 28 service will follow the regular route on Russell Street to Pratt, north on Paca, east on Baltimore, north on Eutaw, east on Preston Street, north on Howard, west on Park Avenue, then via regular route.

Between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., via regular southbound route on Park to North Avenue, south on Park, south on Howard, west on Preston, south on Eutaw, west on Lombard, then via regular route. Between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., northbound service will follow the above described northbound route, north on Eutaw to Preston, east on Preston, north on Howard, east on Park, north on Cathedral, north on Mount Royal, west on McMechen, north on Park, then regular route. Between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., southbound service will follow the regular southbound route onto the access ramp to southbound Route 295 (Russell Street), south onto the exit ramp to Westport, east on Manokin Street, south on Annapolis Road, east on Waterview Avenue, south on Potee Street, then via regular route. When northbound, via regular route on Hanover to Waterview, then west on Waterview, right onto the access ramp to Russell Street to downtown Baltimore, north on Russell, right onto the access ramp to Interstate 95 north, east on I-95 to the exit ramp to Hanover, south on Hanover, right onto the access ramp to Cromwell, east on Cromwell, north on Hanover, then via regular route.

Nos. 63, 64 Express -- When southbound, via regular route to Light and Lombard streets, west on Lombard, south on Greene Street, south on Russell, right onto the exit ramp to Westport, east on Manokin Street, south on Annapolis Road, east on Waterview Avenue, south on Potee, then via regular route. When northbound on the 64 Express only, via regular route to Hanover Street and Waterview, west on Waterview, right onto the access ramp to northbound Russell to downtown Baltimore, north on Russell, north on Paca Street, east on Pratt Street, north on Calvert Street, then via regular route.

No. 220 -- When southbound, via regular route on Light Street to Lombard Street, west on Lombard, south on Greene, south on Russell, right onto the exit ramp to Westport, east on Manokin, south on Annapolis Road, east on Waterview, south on Potee, then via regular route. When northbound, via regular route on Hanover to Waterview, west on Waterview, right onto the access ramp to Russell to downtown Baltimore, north on Russell, east on Pratt, north on Charles, then via regular route.

No. 27 -- Construction of the Central Light Rail Line at the intersection of Howard and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard necessitates the following temporary route. When northbound, via present temporary route to Eutaw and Martin Luther King, north on Eutaw, east on Preston, north on Howard, then via present temporary route. No change in southbound service.
