Catharine Donnelly Worked as volunteer

A memorial service for Catharine W. Donnelly, who did volunteer work, will be held at 1 p.m. today at Broadmead, 13801 York Road in Cockeysville.

Mrs. Donnelly, who was 93, died Jan. 25 of pneumonia at Broadmead, where she had lived since 1979.

A native of Union Bridge, the former Catharine Wright was reared in Baltimore, where she graduated from Friends School.

After graduating from Swarthmore College in 1918, she married Frederick Stockham Donnelly and lived in Trenton, N.J. She returned to Baltimore about 60 years ago after his death.

She volunteered at the Union Memorial Hospital, at the Brown Memorial Presbyterian churches and at a hospital in Trenton, where she was a member of the Junior League.

She is survived by two sons, Frederick S. Donnelly Jr. of Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Dr. Orville W. Donnelly of Washington; seven granddaughters; and eight great-grandchildren.
