Bullets preview

February 01, 1991|By Jim Henneman

VS. DETROIT PISTONS

* WHEN: Tonight, 8.

* WHERE: Capital Centre.

* TV/RADIO: TNT, WMAL-AM 1500.

VS. BOSTON CELTICS

* WHEN: Sunday, 1.

* WHERE: Boston Garden.

* RADIO: WBAL-AM 1090; WTOP-AM 1500.

* OUTLOOK: Being selected to play in the All-Star game may have been just the tonic Bernard King needed to rejuvenate his scoring. The veteran forward mesmerized his former team with 49 points as the Bullets (20-24) beat the Knicks last night for their second straight win. Now in sole possession of third place in the Atlantic Division, the Bullets have four games left before the All-Star break. The two-time defending champion Pistons (32-13) lead the Central Division while the Celtics (32-11) lead in the Atlantic. Both are missing key players -- the Pistons will play the rest of the year without guard Isiah Thomas, while the Celtics are awaiting the return of forward Larry Bird.
