Thunder in review

* WHAT'S AHEAD: Vs. New York Wings, Feb. 9 (8 p.m.) at Baltimore Arena. Thunder is idle this weekend.

* WRAPUP: Ricky Sowell was named MVP on the strength of four goals and four assists as the Thunder (2-2) captured its second straight, 20-10 over the New England Blazers Saturday night in Worcester, Mass. Jeff Jackson and Matt Kerwick collected three goals apiece, Tim Welsh had two goals and an assist and Vince Angotti contributed a goal and three assists. Jeff Gombar was strong in the goal with 36 saves. He shut out the Blazers in the second quarter and departed after the third with the Thunder ahead, 16-6.

In the Philadelphia Wings' 13-8 win over the New York Saints, John Conley, formerly of Towson State, was the MVP with three goals and an assist.
