This is a weekly summary of selected prime contracts recently awarded by the federal government to companies and other vendors in Maryland.

Martin Marietta Ordnance Systems Inc. in Milan, Tenn., won a $12,253,316 contract from the Army to operate and maintain an Army ammunition facility.

Martin Marietta Corp. in Englewood, Colo., won a $6,917,640 contract from the Air Force to supply Air Force equipment management systems.

Optelecom Inc. in Gaithersburg won a $1,899,180 contract from the Army to develop optical fiber systems.

Zodiac of North America in Stevensville won a $1,153,075 contract from the Coast Guard to supply helicopter components.

Applied Research in Landover won a $1,136,836 contract from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration to collect cosmic dust.

Fla., won a $299,870 contract from the Army to engineer missile automated test equipment.

R&N Construction Co. Inc. in White Plains won a $249,000 contract from the Navy to provide repairs and construct an addition to a building.

BFPE International in Hanover won a $231,763 contract from the Navy to test, inspect and maintain fire extinguishing and fire alarm systems.

McGregor Printing Co. in Westminster won a $193,500 contract from the Government Printing Office for printing services.

Parsons Frank Paper Co. Inc. in Landover won a $165,769 contract from the Defense General Supply Center to furnish paper for making maps.
