* St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 11795 Route 216, Fulton. Special prayer services, 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays. 725-0241.

* St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, at the Oakland Mills Interfaith Center, Robert Oliver Place, Columbia. Mass, 7:30 p.m. Thursdays. 964-1425.

* Pastor Martin Norman of Grace Community Church of Columbia will deliver a message on the gulf during the first part of the service. The church meets in Oakland Mills High School from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m. Sundays.992-4384.

* First Lutheran Church, Chatham and Frederick roads, Ellicott City. Weekly prayer services from 7 to 7:30 p.m. every Sunday. A prayer list for specific individuals serving in the gulf will be included in each service. 465-2977.



The Religious Society of Friends will offer a draft counseling training workshop on Feb. 9, at the Sandy Springs Friends Community House, Meeting House Road. Time will be announced later. Information: 730-4597.



* Monthly meetings of a support group for employees of the Applied Physics Laboratory who have family members stationedin the Persian Gulf that will meet in the Kossiakoff Center. Dates have not yet been arranged. Information: 792-5113.

* A support groupstrictly for parents of service people in the gulf meets in Guilford. Information: Ed Brody, 947-5800.
