Hcc Trustees Pick Nimmons As Dean

Harford Community College's Board of Trustees has appointed Julius F. Nimmons Jr. as the College's Dean of Arts and Sciences.

Nimmons will lead the division which includes the departments of English, Speech and Foreign Languages; Fine/Applied Arts; Social Sciences; Behavioral Sciences; Natural Sciences; Math/Engineering; Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics; Transitional Studies and Counseling.

Nimmons earned a Ph.D. in U.S. History from Howard University, aswell as a certificate from the American Council on Education Fellowsin Academic Administration, an M.A. in European History from AtlantaUniversity, and a B.A. in American History/Education from Morehouse College. He comes to Harford Community College from Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas, where he served as President and CEO from 1988 to 1990. From 1987 to 1988 he served as Special Assistant tothe President, Program Manager for ROTC Enhanced Skills Training Program,and Director of the Honors Program.
