WESTMINSTER — The City Council is expected to approve the hiring of its choice forthe newly created position of city manager at its regular meeting tomorrow night.
On Thursday morning, the council announced it had selected Philip F. Hertz, a Hanover, Pa., native and currently borough manager in Metuchen, N.J.
If approved as expected, Hertz plans to begin his $57,000-a-year job here on Feb. 19.
Also tomorrow, the council will discuss an annexation request for a 31-acre tract that formerly was the Poole property.
The council will review recommendations contained in the recent report of the Ad Hoc Growth Management Task Force. The report, submitted last week, includes a recommendation to lift the 18-month oldmoratorium on sewer hookup permits for residential building projects.
The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall.
