An 18-year-old Massachusetts woman was critically injured early yesterday when the parked car she was sleeping in was struck by another vehicle, state police said.

State police at Woodlawn said the woman was in a Honda Civic parked on the right shoulder of southbound Interstate 95, near the Baltimore Beltway in Catonsville, about 4 a.m. when it was struck from behind.

Hilary Shedd, 18, of Lincoln, Mass., was in critical condition at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center. The driver of the second vehicle, Joseph M. Helms, 27, of Buttonhole Court in Columbia, was in satisfactory condition at St. Agnes Hospital.
