Alice W. Gardner Retired bookkeeper

Services for Alice W. Gardner, a former resident of the Baltimore area, will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Ely Funeral Home in Neptune, N.J.

Mrs. Gardner, who was 84 and moved to Falling Waters, W.Va., near Hagerstown, seven years ago, died Wednesday at a hospital in Elizabethtown, Pa., after a stroke.

She had lived in the Baltimore area for 25 years and was a bookkeeper for Tate Engineering Inc.

The former Alice W. Agnew was born in West Hoboken, N.J., and lived in Rumson, N.J., before moving to Maryland.

A member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she belonged to the Episcopal Church of the Holy Apostles while in the Baltimore area.

She is survived by her husband, Lester L. Gardner; a son, Herbert Gardner of Rumson; a daughter, Roberta A. Gardner of Falling Waters; two brothers, Robert Agnew of Storrs, Conn., and Henry B. Agnew of Manchester, Conn.; three granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.
