Bid To Keep Principal Fails

Approximately 20 students and teachers from Northeast Senior High School sat in the audience at Wednesday night's school board meeting, wearing black and gold Eagles sweat shirts, to ask that acting principal William Myers be named permanently to the position.

"He's warm and friendly and we need someone to be that way with students," 16-year-old Jennifer Vickery said before the meeting began. "We're missingtime from studying for our exams tomorrow because we want to supporthim."

Rae Ann Dettrey, also 16, added that they needed a principal already familiar with the Pasadena school.

But just as the meeting began, personnel director Carol Parham announced that Joseph Carducci, now assistant principal at Annapolis Senior, will become the next principal of the school.

After several sighs of disappointment, the group abruptly left the meeting.
