Philadelphia 76ers -- F Charles Barkley (slight fracture in his left ankle) said that he probably would not be back in the lineup until Friday, when the 76ers play the Boston Celtics at the Spectrum.

Kansas City -- Agreed to terms with IF Paul Zuvella (.283, 5 HRs, 41 RBI with Class AAA Omaha) on one-year minor-league contract.

Montreal Expos -- Announced that approval has been granted for shift of its Class AA affiliation to Harrisburg, Pa., of the Eastern League.

New York Mets -- Signed C Rick Cerone (.302 avg in 49 games for Yankees) to one-year contract.

Toronto Blue Jays -- Agreed to terms with OF Devon White (.217, 11 HRs, 44 RBI, 21 SB) for $750,000; C Carlos Diaz (.333 in 9 games); and P Pat Hentgen and P Ricky Trlicek on one-year contracts.

Northeastern -- Named Joseph Gilbert assistant football coach.

Oklahoma -- G Terrence Mullins (10.8 ppg) will undergo arthroscopic knee surgery for cartilage damage today and will be out two weeks and possibly rest of year.

Buffalo Bills -- Announced that DE Leon Seals won't arrive in Tampa until tomorrow because he is attending the funeral of his mother, who died Saturday.

Minnesota North Stars -- RW Shane Churla, NHL leader in penalty minutes with 219, is expected to miss six weeks after undergoing surgery to repair separated shoulder.

New Jersey Devils -- Recalled RW Jeff Madill from Utica (AHL).

Washington Capitals -- Assigned LW Bob Joyce (5 goals, 3 assists in 11 games) to AHL's Baltimore Skipjacks for two weeks of conditioning.
