ASSAULT ON OFFICER: Northeastern District -- Police arrested two men fleeing from a stolen car and charged one of them with attempting to shoot a pursuing police officer. Officer Edward Eilerman, a 20-year veteran, said he stopped a Nissan 200SX shortly before 1 a.m. today when he saw it going the wrong way in the 3400 block of Brendan Ave. at a very slow speed. Eilerman said he checked the car's license plates and learned they were listed to a Cadillac. He said the men ran off in different directions. Moments later, State Police Cpl. Keith Runk, on his way home from duty at the Waldorf barracks, was driving nearby when he heard Eilerman's call for assistance and arrested a suspect nearby. Eilerman chased the second man, who stepped into an alley off the 3600 block of Cliftmont Ave. Eilerman said he was about 30 yards from the alley when the man stepped out and fired a shot at him. Eilerman ducked behind a parked car and the bullet missed. The assailant fled. Police later arrested Darrell Lamont Morgan, 23, at his sister's home in the 4000 block of Raymonn Ave. and charged him with auto theft, attempted murder, assaulting a police officer, a handgun violation and robbery. Police said the car was stolen from Donna Thomas, 26, when she was assaulted by a man Saturday morning outside her home in the 4100 block of Brendan Ave. The other man arrested this morning, Paul Anthony Ross, 26, of the 3200 block of Clareway, was charged with auto theft. Police said both men were being held pending a bail hearing.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- Russell Whitlock, of the 1000 block of E. Baltimore St., reported he was in the 2000 block of Eastern Ave. yesterday afternoon when he was robbed of his wallet by another man. Later, police arrested a man and were holding him pending a bail hearing.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- Dorothy Horton, of the 2700 block of the Alameda, reported that someone entered her home over the weekend and stole a $500 TV from her bedroom.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 5000 block of Crenshaw Ave. reported that someone broke into her home and stole a TV and stereo receiving and recording equipment, all valued at nearly $1,900.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that two men, one armed with a handgun, entered Video Villa in the 4500 block of Belair Road early yesterday afternoon and robbed an employee of more than $100. Police said the robbers also forced the employee to give them the film from the security camera that apparently recorded the holdup.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Marylou Young, of the 1200 block of Evesham Ave., reported she was getting out of a car in front of her home yesterday when a man approached her from behind and struck her left arm, causing her to drop the purse she was carrying. Police said the man escaped with cash and property, all valued at less than $100.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that Margaret Gately, of the 4200 block of LaSalle Road, was standing behind )) her car in front of her home when she was attacked from behind by a man who stole her purse containing more than $100 in cash and property.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Sharon Bell, of the 2900 block of Shirey Ave., reported she was walking near her home early last evening when a man stopped her, demanded her purse and ripped it from her arm when she resisted. Police said the purse contained cash and property valued at more than $30.

SHOOTING: Northeastern District -- Police today continued to search for a man who attempted to rob three men outside an apartment complex in the 5900 block of Radecke Ave. early last evening and shot one of them. Police said Carey Joweks, of the 6000 block of the Alameda; Humphrey Johnson, of the 6000 block of Barstow Road; and Tyrone Bellgrove, of the 5200 block of Darien Road, were in the 5900 block of Radecke Ave. around 5 p.m. when a gunman stopped them and demanded their money and property. When the victims resisted, the gunman shot Joweks in the left arm and fled. Joweks was listed in good condition today at Francis Scott Key Medical Center.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Norman Eaton, of the 1800 block of Chilton St., reported he was in the 2700 block of Harford Road early yesterday afternoon when several males wearing ski masks demanded his money, rifled his pockets and took about $20.

RECOVERED CAR: Northern District -- Police reported that a 1985 Chevrolet that was reported stolen from the home of Patrice Y. Cash in the 2800 block of W. Garrison Ave. Saturday evening was recovered yesterday morning in the 1100 block of W. North Ave. No arrests have been made.

THEFT: Northern District -- A driver for the County Cab Co. in Catonsville reported that a passenger left his cab in the 100 block of W. 27th St. and refused to pay the $15 fare. Police searched the area and failed to find the passenger.
