Columbia Man, 29, Walks Into Trouble

Two men wearing sweat suits robbed a 29-year-old Columbia man of some personal items Sunday as he walked near a parking lot, county police said.

The incident occurred shortly before 11:40 p.m. as the man walkedalong the unit block of Wincopin Circle. He was approached from behind by two black men who demanded money, police said.

One of the men grabbed the victim's arm and the other put a handgun to his head, police said.

The victim was carrying no money, but the assailants grabbed some unidentified personal items valued at about $50 from his pockets and fled the area on foot.

The victim was not injured.

8900 block Wetbanks Court: Jan. 14, severalpieces of jewelry, electronic and camera equipment were reported stolen at 7:30 p.m. from a home entered through a side kitchen window.

6300 block Early Red Court: Jan. 11, a 1987 Chevrolet Eurosport was reported stolen at 7 a.m. from a residential community.

10300 block Little Patuxent Parkway: Jan. 10, a 1984 Mazda 626 was stolen sometime before 8:15 p.m. from the parking lot of The Mall in Columbia.

Ellicott City

3200 block Wheaton Way: Jan. 15, someone attempted to steal a 1990 Geo Storm shortly before 2 p.m. from a residential parking lot.

Elkridge

7200 block Montgomery Road: Jan. 15, a 1988 Honda Accord wasstolen at approximately 7:20 p.m. after the owner left the engine running while he went inside a shopping center business.

6400 block Greenfield Drive: Jan. 14, a 1990 Chevrolet Cavalier was reported stolenat 1:25 p.m. from a residential parking lot.

Laurel

10500 block Saddlebrook Court: Jan. 13, a tool box containing tools was stolen sometime before 12:30 p.m. from a car parked in a residential area.

8100 block Hitching Post: Jan. 10, a 1979 Jeep CJ was reported stolen at 7 a.m. from a residential community.

Jessup

U.S. 1 and Route 175: Jan. 11, a car stereo was reported stolen at 2:30 p.m. from a car parked in a shopping center parking lot.

7700 block U.S. 1: Jan. 13, several pieces of camera equipment were reported stolen at 12:30 a.m. from a trailer that was forcibly entered.
