This health food carryout and market puts the accent on West Indian flavors and wholesome vegetarian foods. The regular hot food menu includes tofu pups, grilled vegetarian burgers with various cheeses, melts served on seven-grain bread, spinach pies and vegetable samosas.

The veggie burger with cheese ($3.60) is served in whole wheat pita bread with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, spicy carrot mix, sprouts and a special sauce made from a canola oil base. It has a delicious, almost nutty flavor and is served with a bag of Muhammad Ali potato chips.

The leanie, a vegetarian hot dog, is served cold in pita bread ($1.75) with the kitchen's special mixture. It tastes just like a regular hot dog.

The vegetable samosa ($1.25) is a plump, tasty triangle of fried dough filled with curry-flavored potatoes, peas, East Indian spices and caraway seeds.

Live It Not Diet offers a hot meal special each day. A typical offering is vegetarian veal cutlet with Basmati rice, organic vegetables and Jamaican plantains and corn bread "festivals" ($5.95.)

Drinks include fresh carrot juice ($1.50), iced tea ($1) and various vitality soy milk shakes ($2.50) which are similar to those popularized by Dick Gregory in his Bahamian diet.
