Sewell To Give Lecture On Blake And Newton

"Blake and Newton" will be the topic of a lecture by poet, novelist and teacher Elizabeth Sewell on Feb. 26 at St. John's College.

Thelecture, one of a series offered by the Elizabeth Myers Mitchell Gallery, is scheduled for 4 p.m. in the Conversation Room. It is open tothe public.

Born a British citizen in India, Sewell has published poems, short stories and articles in journals in the U.S., Canada, and Europe.

In 1981, she received an award for poetry and fiction from the American Academy/ Institute of Arts and Letters, and in 1985, an award from the North Carolina Poetry Society for her poetry collection "Acquist."
