Two men, one armed with a gun, robbed a Crown gas station in Glen Burnie Monday.

The police said the robbers walked into the station in the 5700 block of Ritchie Highway at about 11 p.m. and showed the clerk a gun.

While one of the robbers removed cash from the register, the other went behind the counter and took a cloth bag of coins.

Both men left the station and headed south on Ritchie Highway.

The police described the first robber as a black male, about 6 feet tall, witha dark complexion, and wearing a derby hat.

The second robber was described as a black male, about 5 feet 11 inches tall, and wearingblue jeans and a knit cap.

A Virginia man was robbed at gunpoint Monday outside the Holiday Inn in Glen Burnie, county police reported.

The police said the victim had parked his truck in the hotel lot in the 6300 block of Ritchie Highway at about 11 p.m. A man walked up to him and pointed a gun at him.

The gunman demanded and obtained the victim's wallet.

The police described him as a black male about 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 155 pounds. He was wearing a dark blue ski mask and a red waist-length jacket.

LAUREL MAN KILLED

in single-car accident

A Laurel man was killed Monday after he was thrown from his car during an accident on Brockbridge Road.

Leon Wajs, 50, of the unit block ofBruce Avenue, was pronounced dead at Prince George's Hospital Centerafter the 2 a.m. accident.

County police said Wajs was northbound on Brockbridge Road when he lost control of his car, which ran off the road and up an embankment.

The car rolled over several times.Wajs was thrown out and hit a tree.

robbed of his jacket

A Glen Burnie man was robbed of his jacket Saturday in Severn.

Police said the man was walking on Pioneer Drive at 3 a.m. when another man, known to the victim as "Dixon," came up to him and asked him to repay a loan.

The robber beat and kicked the man and then took his green jacket, worth about $100.

Police describe the assailant as a black male from Washington.

PURSE-SNATCHER

County police have charged a 29-year-old man with robbery after a purse-snatching in the parking lot of Annapolis Mall Saturday.

Police said the woman was loading a package into the trunk ofher car at about 6 p.m. when a man grabbed the purse on her shoulderand ran away.

The woman called to security guards, who captured the purse snatcher.

Jeffrey Lee Weiner, of no fixed address, was also charged with giving a false statement to police.
