Newspaper-in-school workshops offered

The Baltimore Sun is offering workshops this month and next for teachers interested in using its newspapers in the classroom.

The first workshop is to be held Jan. 26 for kindergarten through grade five; the second workshop is to be held Feb. 9 for grades six through 12. Both are to be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Baltimore Sun building, 501 N. Calvert St.

Registration for two teachers costs $35. The fee covers breakfast, lunch, two sets of curriculum guides, lesson plans, 100 copies of The Evening Sun and The Sun, and admission to two sessions on topics including language arts, mathematics, the environment and geography.
