It's your call

January 16, 1991

Turmoil in the Mideast is a bigger long-term threat to world peace and stability than problems in the Soviet Union, according to readers of The Evening Sun and other callers to Sundial.

Of nearly 300 callers yesterday, 219, or 75 percent, believed the situation is the Persian Gulf was a bigger threat to peace. The unrest in the Soviet Union was rated the bigger threat by 73 callers, or 25 percent.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as a scientific public opinion poll would be.
