Continental Realty Corp., a Towson-based commercial developer, is constructing eight buildings on 34.5 acres at Owings Mill Commerce Centre. Kasco Chesapeake Builders Inc. the construction manager for land development, LDR International planned the site, Greenhorne & O'Mara Inc. handled civil engineering and Herbst & Associates Inc. did soil engineering work.

EA Remediation Technologies Inc., a subsidiary of EA Engineering, Science and Technology based in Hunt Valley, reorganized its Western Division Operations and relocated facilities from Napa, Calif., to Lafayette, Calif., in the bay area. As part of the reorganization, Lewis R. Ivers was named western division general manager and Javier Prospero manager of construction services for the western division.

Group 1 Software in Greenbelt recently developed software that translates nine-digit postal ZIP codes into the U.S. Postal Service's POSTNET bar codes, which are then printed on mail to lower mailing costs.

Baltimore-Warner Paper Co. of Baltimore is distributing paper manufactured by Papyrus Newton Falls Inc.

Kay Berney Planning recently opened a meeting and special event planning company at 100 W. University Parkway in Baltimore.

Signet Bank contributed $3,000 to Jubilee Baltimore Inc., a non-profit organization that develops housing and provides a job placement service.

Babe Ruth Birthplace and Baseball Center in Baltimore named the following board members: Marc J. Atas, Jay M. Blumenthal, Patrick P. Flynn, Bruce A. Genther and James R. Hedrick.

Bendix Field Engineering Corp., based in Columbia, raised $517,286 for the United Way from its annual employee campaign.

Harkins Builders won the Project of the Year and Non-Commercial Revitalization Project awards from the Prince George's County Economic Development Corp. for the Glenarden Apartments in Lanham.

Penn Advertising Inc. recently honored the following employees: Rob Aronson, sales representative in Baltimore, top sales for a holiday promotion; Sharon Chronister, account executive in York, Bill Krause, senior account executive in Erie, Pa., and Cathy Bowen, account executive in Baltimore, received co-op salesperson of the year awards; Jack Kunkle, account executive in the York/Lancaster division and David Hammes, regional sales manager in the Baltimore division, achieved a million dollars in annual sales.

Welsh Construction Remodeling Co. was named Commercial Contractor of the Year for commercial interior remodeling by the Maryland Improvement Contractors Association.
