HOWE GIVEN NAVY'S ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL

Marine Sgt. Patricia M. Howes, daughter of James P. Murphy of Havre de Grace and Renate M. Criss, Bel Air, recently received the Navy Achievement Medal.

She received the decoration for her superior performance of duty while stationed with the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, N.C.

A 1980 graduate of Edgewood Senior High School, she joined the Marine Corps in November 1980.

MOOR COMPLETES INFANTRY TRAINING

Pvt. Christopher M. Moor, son of Mary T. and Harry F. Moor of Whiteford, has completed training at the U.S. Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

During the course, students received training which qualified them as light-weapons infantrymen and as indirect-fire crewmen in a rifle or mortar squad.

Instruction included weapons qualifications, tactics, patrolling, land mine warfare, field and combat operations.

CHAMBERS FINISHES ARMY BASIC TRAINING

Army Reserve Pvt. Robert E. Chambers, son of Earl L. and Christa Chambers of Edgewood, has completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

During the training, students received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, first aid, and Army history and traditions.

Chambers is a 1987 graduate of Edgewood High School.

KOVACS COMPLETES INFANTRY TRAINING

Pvt. Christopher J. Kovacs, son of Beverly A. Kovacs of Bel Air, has completed training at the U.S. Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

Pvt. George M. Curry, son of George D. and Diane B. Curry of Fallston, has completed basic training at Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, N.C.

During the training, students received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, first aid, and Army history and traditions.

The private is a 1990 graduate of Fallston High School.

GEISEL GIVEN THIRD AIR FORCE MEDAL

Capt. Christian G. Geisel, son of Inge A. Geisel of Edgewood, has again been decorated with the Air Force Commendation Medal.

The medal is awarded to those individuals who demonstrate outstanding achievement or meritorious service in the performance of their duties on behalf of the Air Force.

This decoration marks the third time Geisel, chief of Public Affairs Division at Dover Air Force Base, Del. has received the commendation medal.

The captain graduated from Edgewood High School in 1973, and received a master's degree in 1983 from Angelo State University, San Angelo, Texas.

JOHNSON COMPLETES ARMY BASIC TRAINING

Pvt.Bryant M. Johnson, son of James M. and Victoria M. Johnson of Joppa,has completed basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C.

During the training, students received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, first aid, and Army history and traditions.

The private is a 1982 graduateof Edgewood Senior High School.

DOCKERY COMPLETES UNIT SUPPLY COURSE

Army National Guard Pvt. Marcella L. Dockery, daughter of William R. Dockery of Dungannon, Va. and Alta D. Ellis of Bel Air, has graduated from the unit supply specialist course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.

Students were trained in receipt, storage, issue and accountability of individual, organization, and installation supplies and equipment, as well as maintenance of small arms.
