Bowling For Dollars (these Are For Mda)

Members of the Old Mill High School Distributive Education Clubs of America Club, a youth organization for marketing education, along with their sponsor and adviser, Mary Louise Capers, bowled at the Fairlanes Bowling Alley in Pasadena on Sunday, Jan. 6, to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

The DECA members were joined bybusiness economics students of Old Mill Senior in their efforts to support MDA.

The club will donate $500 to MDA as a result of the event.

About a dozen students participated.

The DECA members met the requirements of their civic consciousness project by sponsoring the bowl-a-thon for MDA. DECA members who bowled were:

Sean Haynie, Lisa Hildenbrand, John Sims, Charmaine Flood and Tijia Thomas. Students from the business economics class were Heather Randall, Jason Cox and Jason Rankin.

Sean Haynie was chairman for the Old Mill DECA Bowl-A-Thon for Dystrophy (BAD).

In other DECA news, the club will be sponsoring a talent show from 7 to 9:30 p.m. March 23 in the Old Mill High School auditorium.

Talent will be drawn from local schools in and out of Anne Arundel County. Talent will consist of vocal, instrumental, art, interpretive ballet, fashion design and much more.
