Helen M. Johnson Telephone operator

A memorial service for Helen M. Johnson, a retired telephone operator, will be held at noon today at Henry W. Jenkins and Sons funeral establishment, 4905 York Road.

Mrs. Johnson, who was 80 and lived in the Charlestown Retirement Community, died Tuesday at St. Agnes Hospital after a long illness.

She retired about 15 years ago as a chief operator after working for the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co. for 46 years.

The former Helen M. Titchenell was born in Philadelphia and reared in Baltimore.

Her husband, Robert B. Johnson, died in 1982.

She is survived by two sons, Richard C. Burt of Stoneleigh, and Robert B. Johnson Jr. of Annapolis; two sisters, Pauline Pederson and Maude Callahan, both of Towson; and four grandchildren.

The family suggested contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
