Jewish leaders postpone trip

January 11, 1991

A group of Baltimore's Jewish community leaders has postponed a trip to Israel, which was to begin tomorrow morning and continue through next Thursday.

The trip was postponed by Alfred Coplan, an official of the Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore and the leader of the delegation, after the State Department this morning issued an advisory against travel to Israel.

About 30 Jewish businesspeople, religious lay leaders, Associated officials and their spouses were to see how funds raised in Baltimore were being used in development programs in Israel. But the threat of war in the region caused the mission's leaders to put the trip on hold indefinitely, the Associated announced today.
