Palmer's back in the news

OK, is he serious or not? Could this be just another Elvis sighting?

Apparently, another chapter in the mysterious "comeback" of Hall of Fame pitcher Jim Palmer was to take place today when he was scheduled to pitch batting practice at the University of Miami.

The Oriole great, now 45, who ended his career in 1984 reportedly has been working with Lazaro Collazo, an assistant ,, coach at Miami who claims Palmer is "two weeks ahead of his goal" and throwing "85-86 miles an hour."

If it's true, at the current going rate for any sound body who calob the ball near home plate, Palmer should be back in the majors by April.
