John S. Walker

John S. Walker, 82, who retired as head of shipping for a padding manufacturer, died of cancer Saturday at his home in the Forty-Three Hundred North Charles Apartments.

A memorial mass is to be offered at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at SS. Philip and James Roman Catholic Church, 2801 N. Charles St.

Mr. Walker retired in 1974 as head of the shipping department of William T. Burnett & Co. Inc., which makes polyurethane foam for padding and other uses. With Burnett for many years, he previously was a shipping supervisor with other companies, including Armour & Co.

Survivors include his wife, the former Catherine Kerr; a daughter, Linda Anne Keeley of Baltimore; a stepson, Richard Kerr of Chatham in Howard County; two stepdaughters, Jean Benjamin of Timonium and Anne O'Ferrall of Catonsville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
