Willie T. Murray Taught in city schools

Services for Willie T. Murray, a retired Baltimore schoolteacher, will be held at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Nutter Funeral Home, 2501 Gwynns Falls Parkway.

Mrs. Murray, who was 66 and lived on Sanford Place, died Monday at Maryland General Hospital of complications after surgery.

She retired in 1986 as a special education teacher after serving in city schools for more than 25 years.

The former Willie Troute was a native of Dublin, Ga., and came to Baltimore to attend what is now Morgan State University. After graduating from Morgan, she earned a master's degree at Loyola College.

She was active in two improvement groups, the Penn North Association and the Cumberland-Sanford Neighborhood Association.

Her husband, Fred Douglas Murray Sr., who operated a barbershop in the 1300 block of West North Avenue, died in 1984.

She is survived by a son, Fred Douglas Murray Jr. of Pikesville; and two grandchildren.
