Beauty do's and don'ts

January 10, 1991|By Catherine Cook

* Don't lighten your hair just because you're aging.

* Don't spend more effort camouflaging flaws; enhance assets.

Don't forget to modify your hair and makeup as you age and styles change.

Don't wear pearlized shadows if you have even a few wrinkles -- you'll look like you have more.

Don't choose eye shadows just because they're dramatic; shadows should

bring out the color of your eyes.

Do start with a lip liner, a sprinkle of powder and two applications of lipstick for maximum staying power.

Do find a middle ground between too much and too little makeup.

* When blow drying hair, for maximum effect, apply mousse from the roots out.
