Coppin beats Brooklyn, 65-61

NEW YORK -- Coppin State (6-2) saw much of a 15-point lead get away at the foul line in the second half, but the Eagles hung on for a 65-61 non-conference victory over Brooklyn College (6-5) last night. Brooklyn made 17 of 23 free throws in the last 20 minutes to finish 28 of 40 at the line, as Coppin was called for 30 fouls.
