Wilbert Lee Lewis, 38, a chemical plant worker, died Thursday of cancer at his home on Stony Barr Road in the Woodlawn area.
Graveside services were being held today at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Road in Owings Mills.
Mr. Lewis had worked for Chemetals Inc., a manganese processing company, for about four years after a short time as a Baltimore police officer.
A native of Baltimore, he graduated from City College and served eight years in the Army.
He was a member of a tenpins team at the Fair Lanes Woodlawn Bowling Center.
Survivors include his wife, the former Peggy Moore; a son, Kareem Ali Lewis of Baltimore; two daughters, Karinn Angelique Marie Lewis of Baltimore and Kirsten Lewis of Woodlawn; and his parents, Pete and Otis Virginia Lewis, both of Baltimore.
Another service was held yesterday at St. Bernardine's Roman Catholic Church.
