Clarence Hutchins Former land surveyor

Services for Clarence Russell Hutchins Jr., a retired land surveyor, will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Sherwood Episcopal Church, Sherwood and York roads in Cockeysville.

Mr. Hutchins, who was 66, died Wednesday of cancer at his home on Cedar Knoll Road in Cockeysville.

He retired about 15 years ago after 30 years with the Baltimore County government.

The Cockeysville native served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Europe during World War II. His decorations included the Purple Heart.

His first wife, the former May Lillian Jones, died in 1985.

He is survived by his wife, the former M. Corinne Price; three daughters, Sue Ann Diehl of Phoenix, Ariz., Laura Hutchins Bowen of Jacksonville, Fla., and Moira Hutchins-Fuhr of Burlington, Vt.; three stepsons, Joseph Miller III of Hampstead, James R. Miller of Brooksville, Fla., and Michael Miller of Sabillasville; a stepdaughter, Catherine Ser of Cockeysville; a sister, Comfort Marcella Davis of Huntington, W.Va.; three grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
