Mary M. Costello Sacred Heart teacher

January 04, 1991

A Mass of Christian burial for Mary M. Costello, a teacher at the Shrine of the Sacred Heart School since 1972, will be offered at 10 a.m. today at the Roman Catholic Shrine of the Sacred Heart, 5800 Smith Ave., Mount Washington.

Mrs. Costello, who was 59, died Tuesday of cancer at her home on Murdock Road in Rodgers Forge.

The former Mary Eleanor Macatee was a native of Baltimore and a graduate of Mount St. Agnes College, now part of Loyola College, and Mount St. Agnes High School.

A first- and second-grade teacher at Sacred Heart, she had earlier been a member of the faculty at the James Monroe School, then at Fulton Avenue and Hollins Street.

She is survived by a daughter, Mary Carol Costello of the Mount Washington area, and a son, Michael W. Costello of Rodgers Forge.

The family suggested memorial contributions to the Mary Costello Scholarship Fund at the Shrine of the Sacred Heart School.
