Nancy L. Place, Housewife, 39

Catholic prayers were offered for Odenton resident Nancy L. Place onMonday, Dec. 31, at Hardesty Funeral Home of Gambrills.

Mrs. Place, 39, died at University Hospital on Dec. 28 after an auto accident.

Mrs. Place was a member of Greater Odenton Recreation Council.

She is survived by her husband, Larry E. Place; a daughter, JoAnna Hein of Odenton; a son, Jonathan Place of Odenton; her parents, John and Margaret Weir of Linthicum; two brothers, John Weir of Florida and Thomas Weir of Belair; and two sisters, Lynn Weir of Linthicum and Cindy Weir of Baltimore.


Services took place for West River resident Helen Werkmeister Erling on Monday, Dec. 31, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cumberland.

Mrs. Erling, 101, died of heart failure Dec. 29 at Annapolis Convalescent Nursing Center.

A resident of West River since 1986, she was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Her husband, George J. Erling, died in 1967.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Marshall of West River and Helen Linger of College Station,Texas; two sons, Fred Erling of Dallas, Texas, and Fritz Werkmeister of Altoona, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Her sons, George H. Werkmeister and Hans W. Werkmeister, died before her.
