Michigan outlook: QB Elvis Grbac runs the offense and has completed 139 of 241 for 1,615 yards and 17 touchdowns. Junior TB Jon Vaughn is the leading rusher with 1,236 yards on 201 carries for 6.1 yards per carry and 112.3 yards per game. WR Desmond Howard is the top receiver with 57 receptions for 858 yards and 15.1 yards per catch. Howard also ranks second in the nation with a 29.5 yards per kickoff return.

Mississippi outlook: The Rebels have split their QB duties between Tom Luke, 51 of 107 for 853 yards and four touchdowns, and Russ Shows, 57 of 126 for 953 yards and six touchdowns. However, the Rebels' running game is Randy Baldwin, who was second in the SEC with 970 yards on 163 carries for 6.0 yards per carry and 88.1 yards per game.
