Laurie Wiesner Flooding victim

Services for Laurie Morton Hall Wiesner, who died Wednesday when her family's car was swept off a low-water bridge in West Virginia during a family outing, will be at 1 p.m. today at the funeral home of John C. Miller Inc., 6415 Belair Road.

Mrs. Wiesner, who was 29, was born in Dayton, Ohio. She came to Baltimore with her family at the age of 4 and lived in Lauraville. She attended Garrett Heights Elementary School and was a 1979 graduate of Western High School.

The former Laurie Morton, who lived with her husband and three children in Hedgesville, W.Va., was working temporarily for AT&T Corp. in Martinsburg, W.Va. She married Christopher Wiesner Sr. in 1986.

Mr. Wiesner, a construction worker at the Woods Resort in Hedgesville, also died in the accident. Three others died as well: his stepson, George J. Hall III, 10, and Mr. Wiesner's father, Richard, of Overlea in Baltimore County. The couple's two remaining children, Christopher, 4, and Joshua, 2, are still missing.

Mrs. Wiesner loved plants and for a short time had worked at a greenhouse in Hedgesville.

She is survived by her mother, Suzanne Chavis of York, Pa.; her father, Joyce L. Morton of Cambridge, Ohio; two sisters, Cynthia Newman of Sykesville and Tiffany Chavis of Columbia; a brother, Jeffrey Morton Sr. of Baltimore and five nephews.
