Services for Paul J. Fineman, a business consultant and former president of Holtite Manufacturing Co., will be at 1 p.m. today at the Sol Levinson Funeral Home, 6010 Reisterstown Road in Pikesville.

Mr. Fineman died yesterday after a long illness. He was 82.

A native of Baltimore, Mr. Fineman graduated from Baltimore City College. He was a 1929 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

After his graduation, he joined Hochschild Kohn & Co. as its first executive trainee, ultimately progressing to buyer.

Between 1937 and 1967, Mr. Fineman worked for Holtite, the parent of Cat's Paw Rubber Co. He served as vice president and sales manager, secretary-treasurer and president of the company.

In 1978, Mr. Fineman became an independent business consultant specializing in corporate mergers and acquisitions. He remained active until his death.

Mr. Fineman was active in the Jewish community, working on the annual campaigns of The Associated, the Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore, and serving on the board of the group's Mount Pleasant and Levindale agencies.

From 1972 on, Mr. Fineman was an active volunteer at Sinai Hospital, where he assisted in the outpatient psychiatric group, the admissions office and the ambulatory care facility.

He is survived by his wife, the former Florence Eisen; two children, Suzanne F. Cohen of Pikesville and Howard Eisen Fineman of Boston; and four grandchildren.
