Accomplishments: Finished 18th in the 50-yard freestyle at the Senior National Swim Meet in Nashville, Tenn., last March, where she was the youngest finisher among the top 18; finished third in the 100 freestyle in the Junior National meet in Cleveland in March

Recipient's comments: "I started swimming when I was 8 years old at the Westminster Riding Club. I like swimming because it's all up to you and if you work hard you can succeed. (The Senior Nationals) was really exciting; it was tough competing against the older swimmers but it made me feel special. I hope to place in the top eight in Seniors next March at Seattle, Washington."
