Redskins expected to activate Riggs, Rocker for Bills game

December 29, 1990|By Vito Stellino

The Washington Redskins are likely to activate running back Gerald Riggs and defensive lineman Tracy Rocker from the injured-reserve list today for tomorrow's game against the Buffalo Bills.

Riggs figures to replace Kelvin Bryant (knee), who is expected to go on the injured list. Rocker is likely to be needed because the Redskins have only four healthy defensive linemen. Three linemen -- Charles Mann (knee), Eric Williams (sprained arch) and Markus Koch (knee) -- didn't practice yesterday.

But since the Redskins hope that Mann, Williams and Koch will be back for the playoffs, they may make a move at another position to make room for Rocker.

Safety Alvin Walton missed practice yesterday after suffering a pinched nerve in his neck Thursday, and his status is uncertain.
