When Mr. Loy died in 1940, Mr. Gaver took over the store, which by then had moved to 100 W. University Parkway.
Even though he retired in 1967, Mr. Gaver continued to fill prescriptions well into his 80s.
After retiring, Mr. Gaver turned over University ParkwaPharmacy to his son, Paul Glenn Gaver Jr., and his colleague, Richard E. Myers, who operate the Homeland store today.
Mr. Gaver was a member of the Maryland Pharmaceutical Association and the Wedgwood Club, a local association of pharmacists.
