MAN CHARGED WITH PCP POSSESSION

A Glen Burnie man was charged with possession of PCP after a traffic stop Saturday on Mountain Road.

John Louis Stutzman, 21, of the 400 block Secret Bend Road, was charged with possession with intent to distribute PCP after police found the drug in his car.

Police said Officer Michelle Mangold was patrolling Mountain Road at about 4:30 a.m. when she noticed a Camaro weaving and crossing the center line.

The officer stopped the car and smelled PCP and alcohol. She searched the car and found two jars of PCP and a container of the drug in the driver's pocket.

A 17-year-old passenger in the car also was charged with possession with intent to distribute PCP.

GLEN BURNIE MAN CHARGED WITH ASSAULT A Glen Burnie man was charged with assault after his wife told police he beat her in the Crabtowne restaurant Monday.

Richard Lee Scrivner, 23, of the 7700 block Overhill Road, was charged after the 1:30 a.m. incident.

The police said a woman told investigators that she and her husband had argued, and he pushed her and beat her until she screamed for help.

When she began screaming, her husband left the restaurant, said police, who later arrested him at his home.

ATTEMPTED ARSON AT CHURCH PROBED County police are looking for the person who tried to set fire to an Odenton church over the weekend.

The police said someone had exposed plywood by removing shingles from the walls of the St. John A. M. E. Church in the 2900 block of Conway Road, trying unsuccessfully to set the building afire.
