Mary S. Morrow is named director of systems and administration for national accounts at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Maryland. She was previously vice president of sales and marketing for Health Line Inc., a subsidiary of the health insurer, which she joined in 1972.
On the board:
Michael E. Yaggy is named chairman of the board of the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. He succeeds Mary Gwynn Erlandson, who has served as chairwoman since 1985. Yaggy has been on the board since 1986 and had previously been on the board from 1979 through 1985. He has been vice chairman of the board for the last year. He is a partner in the law firm of Piper & Marbury.
Bernard Leibtag joins Kamanitz, Uhlfelder & Permison as manager of the Tax Department. He has over 10 years of accounting experience, and specializes in Maryland sales taxation.
At Stegman & Co., Martha B. Bradley is promoted to supervisor. She will be responsible for senior and staff accountants and managing auditing engagements. Norman S. Bloomberg is named executive director of Citibank Telemarketing Services. He will direct an operation that employs over 475 people and is responsible for providing telemarketing sales and service support to the bank and other Citibank N.A. consumer businesses. He joined the bank in 1983.
At Signet Mortgage Corp., an affiliate of Signet Bank, Susan O. Burton and Ellen J. Karavas are promoted to mortgage loan officers, and Robert F. Hickey and George L. Slembecker are promoted to mortgage banking officers.
Burton will be responsible for settlement, processing and various underwriting functions. She joined the bank in 1989. Karavas underwrites first mortgage loans according to secondary marketing guidelines in the Baltimore marketplace. Hickey serves as production manager for the Glen Burnie office. Hickey joined Signet in 1987 after working for Paine Webber Mortgage Financing and Northwest Financial Corp. Slembecker is the production manager for the mortgage company's Lutherville office. Erin F. Rowe is named advertising copywriter for Richardson, Myers & Donofrio. She will be responsible for writing advertising copy for Marriott Corp.'s Mid-Atlantic Hotel Division, Baltimore Gas & Electric Co., and the Ryland Group. She most recently spent a year freelancing as a speech writer and copywriter for the Brookshire Hotel Group and Fuller Construction Co. in Connecticut. Before that, she was a copywriter with Marsh & McLennan, where she wrote direct mail pieces for the Washington-based insurance company. Denise D. Ward is promoted to project manager for American Office, a regional contract office furniture dealership headquartered in Baltimore. She will be responsible for coordinating the delivery and installation of office furnishings for various American Office accounts. She will also act as a liaison between the manufacturer and client to track customer orders. She joined the company two years ago and most recently worked in the Purchasing Department. Jeffrey P. Kukucka is appointed cost accounting manager for the McCormick Flavor Group of McCormick & Co. Inc. He will be responsible for all cost accounting, inventory and fixed asset accounting for the group's nine domestic manufacturing facilities. He joined the company in 1980 as accounts payable clerk in the Food Service Division. He most recently worked as cost accounting manager.
Also in the Flavor Group, Eugene Malagar is promoted to cost accountant. He will be responsible for the daily cost accounting activities of the Hunt Valley spice production facility, the Atlanta Flavor Systems production facility and the TAC cleaning products facility in Dallas. He joined the company in 1985 as a bid payment coordinator for the Food Service Division and most recently worked as cost accounting clerk. Before that, held spent 17 years in various positions with the Bank of the Philippine Islands.
