Choice Hotels International, a hotel franchise based in Silver Spring, added 16 hotels in Australia and is opening another eight hotels in Australia next month. The chain also opened a hotel in Auckland, New Zealand.

Mount Royal Management Co., a construction and development firm in Baltimore, has created an enlarged property management and development division to offer a variety of services to commercial real estate investors. Among the areas in which the division will offer service are property management, renovations, land procurement, site planning and financing. Howard Johnson will head the new division. Greater Baltimore Medical Center has named Michael E. Yaggy, a partner in the law firm of Piper and Marbury, chairman

of the board, succeeding Mary Gwynn Erlandson. Janet K. Richardson, an interior designer with the firm RHA Ltd. in Annapolis, was one of six designers in the nation selected to design a carpet and a fabric for the Wool Bureau Inc.'s 1990 Designers Design Collection, now on display at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Mitchell & Associates, a marketing, advertising and public relations firm in Baltimore and Bethesda, is developing a corporate campaign for Fairchild Corp. of Chantilly, Va.

Cornerstone, a Baltimore-based advertising agency, is representing the Baltimore/Washington region for Benjamin Moore & Co., a producer of paint products.

Maryland Hospital Association named Gundry/Glass Hospital in Baltimore a member.

National Society of Fund Raising Executives, Maryland chapter, named Linda B. Rivelis president. Ms. Rivelis is director of development for the Central Maryland Red Cross.
