MTA bus route changes

The MTA has scheduled the following changes in bus routes for this week. The information center (539-5000; TTY for the hearing-impaired, 539-3497) will be open from 6 a.m. to noon tomorrow. The center will be closed Christmas Day and will reopen Wednesday.

Temporary reroutings

No. 11 (Dunkirk Service) -- Springlake Way in the vicinity of the lakes will be closed tomorrow, 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Northbound buses will travel via regular route to Charles Street and Homeland Avenue, then north on Charles, east on Northern Parkway, north on Springlake Way, then via regular route. No change southbound.

Light-rail construction

Effective Wednesday, light-rail construction will close southbound Howard Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Madison Street. The following bus lines will be rerouted:

No. 27 -- Southbound, via regular route on Howard to Preston Street, then west on Preston, south on Eutaw Street, east on Pratt Street to Howard, then via regular route. Northbound, via regular route on Lombard Street to Howard, then west on Lombard, north on Eutaw, east on Martin Luther King, north on Howard, then via regular route.

No. 28 -- Southbound (State Center service), from layover point on Preston at 5th Regiment Armory, then west on Preston, south on Eutaw, west on Lombard, then via regular route on Howard to Preston, then west on Preston, south on Eutaw, west on Lombard, then via regular route. Northbound (State Center service), via regular route on Pratt to Eutaw, then north on Eutaw, north on Eutaw Place, east on Dolphin Street, south on Howard, west on Preston to layover point at 5th Regiment Armory. Northbound (all other service), via regular route on Pratt to Eutaw, then north on Eutaw, east on Martin Luther King, north on Howard, then via regular route.

No. 210 -- Southbound, via regular route on Howard to Preston, then west on Preston, south on Eutaw, east on Centre Street to Howard, then via regular route. Northbound, via regular route on Franklin Street to Eutaw, then north on Eutaw, north on Eutaw Place, east on Dolphin, east on Park Avenue, then via regular route.

Return to regular route

No. 1 -- Effective tomorrow, buses will return to their regular route on Riggs Avenue between Carey Street and Fulton Avenue.
