Palmer Is Honored

WESTMINSTER - Western Maryland College volleyball player Diana Palmer has been selected to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III All-South Region team for the second consecutive year, according to AVCA Associate Director Grant Burger.

Palmer, a 5-foot, 8-inch senior tri-captain, was the team leader in kills with 380, solo blocks with 12 and digs with 409.

Also a two-time Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) All-Star, Palmer compiled 48 service aces, nine block assists and a .276 hitting percentage.

Western Maryland finished 33-8 for its 19th consecutive winning season.

The Green Terrors, under first-year head coach Jolene Jordan, won their second straight MAC-Southwest Section title with a 5-0 mark and placed second in the conference's post-season playoffs.
