Public School Offices Closed Dec. 26-28

December 21, 1990

Superintendent of Schools Larry L. Lorton announced that all public school offices, the school system's central office in Annapolis, and all other school facilities will be closed Dec. 26-28.

The adjustment in the school calendar is a result of fiscal difficulties brought on by the energy crisis as well as the current projected budget deficit.

Athletic events already scheduled will take place, but temperature settings may require that spectators "dress warmly," according to school officials.

Senior high schools where events have been scheduled include: Annapolis, Arundel, Broadneck, Chesapeake, Meade and Southern.
