Latest blonde on Donald's arm is ex-Miss Maryland

Even though people may be losing interest in the art of Donald Trump's deals, he can take solace in knowing they still are intrigued by his art of romance.

The latest post-Ivana, post-Marla story to surface is how The Donald is dazzling a sexy former Miss Maryland USA named Rowanne Brewer.

Local folks were among the first to notice the attributes of Ms. Brewer, a 26-year-old Miami, Fla., resident. She took the 1987 titles of Ocean City's "Best Body on the Beach" and "calendar girl" at Christopher's nightclub. The following year she was crowned Miss Maryland USA.

Two nights ago, she turned up on "Entertainment Tonight" talking about her new honey.

"I think Donald Trump could make anyone a media star but I want to be a successful actress/model," said Ms. Brewer. ". . . I want the female race proud of me."

While Ms. Brewer's not the first beauty to capture Mr. Trump's affections, neither is he her first -- or, perhaps, only -- love.

For the past four years, she has been seeing Brian Giacubeno of the Baltimore heavy metal band, Child's Play, according to Susie Mudd, editor and publisher of Maryland Musician Magazine. They got engaged 1 1/2 years ago, she says. And Mr. Giacubeno's father, Roy, said last night that the engagement is still on.

Efforts to reach Ms. Brewer and Mr. Giacubeno yesterday were unsuccessful.

Others around town were eager to size up the bartender-turned-model.

"My first impression of Rowanne was that she kind of reminds you of a bimbo, but she's hardly that," says Sid Sussman, president of American Pageants, which owns Miss Maryland USA "She can speak and she's bright. She just has this outrageous body."

A brunette-turned-blonde, Ms. Brewer likes form-fitting clothes, says Mr. Sussman. "She was probably born in a mini. Girls didn't particularly like her. Your normal girl couldn't stand the heat."

And, if you must know, here are her 1988 measurements: 5-foot-8, 36-23-35 1/2 , 115 pounds.

Those stats were good enough to help her beat out nearly 70 other women -- including Lesly Brown, who is now Pat Sajak's wife -- for the title of Miss Maryland USA 1988. She placed in the top 10 of the Miss USA pageant and won the title of Miss Photogenic.

After that, she signed with a McLean, Va., modeling agency, appeared on "Star Search" and graced the cover of a Budweiser calendar.

But whether Ms. Brewer and Mr. Trump will find true happiness remains to be seen. Or will Rowanne wind up just the latest beauty The Donald adores and then dumps?

Fat chance, says Ms. Mudd. "Rowanne sets her sights on what she wants and she doesn't stop until she gets it."
