TOWSON STATE vs. SYRACUSE * WHEN: Tonight, 7:35.

* WHERE: Hersheypark Arena.

* RADIO: WCVT-FM 89.7.

* OUTLOOK: The low point for the Tigers last season was a 105-75 whipping administered by then No. 1 Syracuse at the Carrier Dome. Towson State (3-3) prepped for this meeting with a 77-62 win at Howard Tuesday, when junior guard Devin Boyd broke out of a mild shooting slump with a career-high 28 points. It is Towson State's home game, but Billy Owens, a 6-foot-9 consensus preseason All-America, is the draw. A high school hero at nearby Carlisle, the junior forward is averaging 21.3 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.9 assists. Syracuse (9-0), ranked No. 3 in the nation, is getting 18.3 points and 6.3 rebounds a game from 6-5 junior swingman Dave Johnson.

COPPIN STATE vs. CLEMSON * WHEN: Tonight, 6:30.

* WHERE: Miami.

* OUTLOOK: This is one semifinal of the Golden Panther Holiday Classic, with Florida Atlantic and host Florida International meeting in the second game. The consolation and championship games will be played tomorrow. Coppin State (2-4) has a difficult non-conference schedule, and so has Clemson (6-2), which has lost to UNC-Charlotte and Seton Hall. The Tigers are getting 20.3 points and 13.0 rebounds from 6-11 Dale Davis. The Eagles have a smaller big man who's just as dominant, as 6-8 senior Larry Stewart is averaging 21.2 points and 14.0 rebounds. He'll have his hands full with Clemson's strong front line. Senior guard Reggie Isaac leads Coppin State with a 24-point average.
