William G. Calvert

William Gordon Calvert, a Baltimore native who retired as a food broker, died of heart failure Nov. 26 at a hospital in Lakeland, Fla.

He was 79 and had moved in March from Towson to Lakeland.

Services for Mr. Calvert were held Nov. 30 at the Mitchell-Wiedefeld funeral establishment.

He retired nearly 10 years ago as president of the Calvert Sales Co., which he owned for more than 20 years. Earlier, he had worked for other food companies.

He is survived by a son, William Gordon Calvert Jr. of Gulfport, Miss.; his mother, Beulah Taylor Calvert of Baltimore; a sister, Thelma C. Pfetzing of Baltimore; and a brother, Benjamin Franklin Calvert of San Diego.
